    Work Experience


    • Holds 7 years of experience in the field of Transfusion Medicine
    • Worked as Asst Professor in Jubilee Mission Medical college and Research Institute  for 3 years . Have participated in training programs of Post Graduate students in MD (IH & BT).
    • Worked as Joint Coordinator , Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Centre, Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute , Thrissur.
    • Established the Depatment of Transfusion Medicine in MVRCCRI obtaining CDSCO license for whole blood derived and apheresis blood components.
    • Developed the Department of Transfusion Medicine in MVRCCRI into a Regional Blood Transfusion Centre supporting the needs of entire demography of the geographical area.

    Clinical interest

    • Quality Management system- Maintaining a quality based approach in BTS frrom vein to vein
    • Developing a potential Voluntary Blood Donor Pool which is consistent,reliable and granular.
    • Centralisation of Blood Transfusion Services locally , so that quality availability and safety of the blood products can be assured.

    • Specialised products for focuused approch in transfusions- blood products for Intrauterine Transfusions, Leukofiltered, Iradiated blood products and more

    •  Established the Department of Transfusion Medicine, MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute, Kozhikode.
    •  Developed MVR Blood Centre to MVR Regional Blood Centre catering to the needs of Malabar supplying to 24+ hospitals.
    •  Achieved 80% Voluntary Blood Donation on a consistent basis.
    •  Significant contribution towards establishing and maintaining HSC Transplantation Programme at MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute
    •  The “ISBTI Institutional Award for year 2022” for MVR Cancer Centre and Research Institute, a national award for Blood Centres working with social commitment in Transcon 22B held at Raddison Blu, Jammu .


    The Visionary

    Respectfully called MVR, the late MV Raghavan was one of the revolutionary leaders of the Communist movement in Kerala. Born in an ordinary family in Pappinissery, Kannur, his political life began in his early teens. He served two terms as Minister of Co-operation and Ports in Kerala during 1991-1996 and 2001-2006. MVR revolutionized the co-operative sector by taking the people-powered movement to healthcare and education in the State. MV Raghavan realized the role of the co-operative movement in social development and job creation and he was instrumental in setting up various institutions in the state.
